Sahith Siddarth
CS undergrad at Amrita building backend services, retrieval and LLM pipelines, and the tests that keep them honest. Right now I'm writing a Spring Boot microservice at Cognizant — and outside work, winning hackathons and publishing ML research.

Where I'm building
Two roles, one habit: ship features on real deadlines and back them with tests.
- Building a standalone Spring Boot microservice consumed by other modules over REST APIs for asynchronous communication and workflow triggering.
- Integrated SMTP email with PostgreSQL-backed persistence to track request details, delivery status, and service-level state.
- Implemented asynchronous processing to decouple notification workflows from dependent modules — trading a little coupling for real responsiveness.
- Owned API design, debugging, exception handling, and technical docs across Agile sprints, from planning through review.
- Shipped event-management features used by 500+ students with React and Firebase, improving registration workflows and deployment reliability.
- Automated regression and integration testing with PyTest, Selenium, and GitHub Actions; containerized dev environments with Docker.
- Mentored junior members on React and Git, onboarding them to the codebase and reviewing their pull requests.
Things I've shipped
Backend, AI pipelines, and one hackathon-winning product — each with a measured result, not just a stack list.
ClipFlick
An end-to-end pipeline that transcribes long videos with Whisper, uses an LLM to reason over the transcript and pick high-value segments, then cuts short clips through FFmpeg workflows.
AI Complaint Prioritization Platform
A cloud-native platform that classifies complaints, scores priority, tracks SLAs, flags escalations, and auto-routes tickets — with LLM-powered classification wired into the backend.
Optimized RAG Pipeline
A retrieval-augmented generation pipeline using FAISS for embedding-based retrieval, document chunking, and open-source LLM generation — with controlled experiments to tune chunking and retrieval before exposing endpoints.
Campus Cortex 🥇 Krithothon 4.0 winner
A centralized smart-campus platform with Student, Parent, Teacher, and Admin portals — real-time dashboards for attendance, performance, and fees, role-based access, an AI chatbot with voice, and a dyslexia-friendly UI.
Tools I reach for
Grounded in CS fundamentals — DSA, OS, DBMS, networks — then applied to backend, AI, and the tests around them.

Built under pressure
Six national hackathon finals — three of them first place — plus a Google program selection and two research papers.
Built Campus Cortex — a centralized smart-campus platform for student services, collaboration, and academic management.
Built Sentinel-Eye — an offline-capable drone surveillance system with SLAM and automated threat detection for crisis zones.
Won for efficient problem-solving and technical innovation under time pressure.
Real-time crop monitoring and yield prediction platform using ML and IoT sensing.
OLabs Collab — an AI-supported STEM learning and collaboration platform.
Ranked in the top 50 of 6,000+ participants at Qibr Technologies' national automation hackathon.
Trained in generative AI with Vertex AI, Gemini APIs, Imagen, Streamlit, and multimodal RAG.
The path so far
From first-year CS to shipping in an enterprise codebase — the milestones that got me here.
Joined Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri — building fundamentals in DSA, operating systems, DBMS, and networks.
Shipped my first production features, used by 500+ students, on React and Firebase.
🥇 Anokha Techfest (Triple Point) and 🥈 runner-up at EvoLUMIN — learning to build fast under pressure.
Onboarded junior members to the codebase, mentored them on React and Git, and reviewed their pull requests.
🥇 Krithothon 3.0, OLabs finalist, Turbotic Top 50/6000, and selected for the Google Gen AI Academy. Published two ML papers.
Writing a Spring Boot microservice in Platform Engineering — and won Krithothon 4.0 with Campus Cortex.
